IPS’s Sheet Metal Division fabricated and assembled a large-scale outdoor shade structure for CAT Equipment Co., ultimately installed at Margaret Mary Health and Wellness in Batesville, Indiana. Materials were engineered and shipped to IPS, where the team welded the structure’s steel components and completed full assembly at IPS’s Rossford, Ohio facility before delivery.

A key challenge was integrating the Brazilian hardwood slat hold-downs, which required precise, repeatable alignment across the structure. IPS’s Sheet Metal team custom-built line-up jigs to hold the fixtures in place during assembly, ensuring consistent spacing and a clean finished appearance. The structure’s overall size — 32′ long, 12′ wide, and 13′ tall — was well suited to IPS’s 100,000 SF fabrication facility, which provided the room needed to fully assemble the piece under one roof before shipment.
