Senior Accountant
As a Senior Accountant at IPS, you will be responsible for supporting the company’s accounting function by preparing and analyzing financial data, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with company policies and GAAP. This role, based out of our corporate headquarters in Rossford, Ohio, handles moderately complex accounting activities, including job cost tracking, payroll-related accounting updates, and regulatory filings, while collaborating across departments to support financial performance.
Pay Range: $65,000 – $80,000/annually.
Full time position.

Responsibilities
- Utilize accounting/ERP systems (GL, job cost, AP/AR, payroll modules)
- Advanced Excel for reconciliations, reporting, and data analysis
- Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation
- Process journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
- Upload and validate accounting and payroll-related data
- Track and maintain receipts and supporting documentation for expenses and transactions
- Ensure accurate coding of transactions to jobs, cost codes, and general ledger accounts
- Collaborate with project managers, HR, and operations on job cost and payroll-related items
- Coordinate employee file updates related to payroll deductions (benefits, accruals, stipends, and adjustments)
- Support audits by compiling required financial and payroll documentation
- Identify process improvements for expense tracking, payroll data accuracy, and reporting efficiency
- Recommend enhancements to internal controls and reconciliation processes
- Reconcile general ledger, bank accounts, credit cards, and job cost reports
- Monitor financial activity, including payroll-related transactions and deductions, for accuracy and compliance
- Track project costs and assist with variance analysis
- Analyze financial and payroll-related data to support business decisions
- Investigate discrepancies in financial records, receipts, or payroll deductions
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis
- Prepare financial reports (P&L, balance sheet, job cost reports)
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
- Assist with preparation and filing of applicable state and local tax filings (e.g., payroll tax, sales/use tax)
- Ensure timely, accurate financial reporting for leadership
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- Minimum 3 years of accounting experience (construction or job-cost environment preferred)
- Working knowledge of payroll processes, deductions, and related compliance requirements
- Experience with job costing, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Experience with state/local tax filings (payroll tax, sales/use)
- Strong Excel and accounting system proficiency
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Must be able to protect sensitive and confidential data
