Purchasing Associate

As the Purchasing Associate, you will oversee all aspects of purchasing for the company. This includes the procurement of job materials, the soliciting of bids & selection of subcontractors, and the oversight of corporate purchasing. This person will work closely with project managers and will understand the needs and timing of each project to maximize cost efficiency for the company.

Salary: $55,000 – $65,000 per year. Full time position.

Responsibilities

  • Review and issue purchasing orders and agreements in a timely manner.
  • Research and negotiate favorable pricing for purchases.
  • Review and ensure contractual terms with vendors and subcontractors are favorable to the company.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with vendors and subcontractors.
  • Track job and corporate overhead savings achievements.
  • Oversight of the receipt and distribution of materials ordered.
  • Work closely and develop positive relationships with co-workers of various departments and business units.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in purchasing – construction industry experience preferred.
  • Excellent computer competencies, especially with Microsoft Excel.
  • Detail oriented with good problem-solving and teamwork skills.
  • Possess great written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently.
