Mechanical Estimator
As a Mechanical Estimator with Industrial Power Systems (IPS), you will be responsible for calculating cost estimates, and will be involved in the planning, development, negotiation, and contract execution of IPS mechanical projects. If you possess excellent communication skills, acute attention to detail, the ability to negotiate with a range of professionals, a knack for accurately timing and costing estimates, and are a natural problem solver, you will be successful as a Mechanical Estimator at IPS. Salary: $85,000 – $110,000 per year. Full time, permanent position.

Responsibilities
- Determine the total cost of materials, equipment, utilities, and labor for construction projects.
- Research construction documents and analyzing specifications.
- Prepare estimates for planning, organizing, and scheduling project work.
- Manage pre-qualification and pre-bid submissions.
- Prepare estimates to meet project goals, such as setting work hours, sequencing tasks, obtaining materials, and securing the best deals with vendors and subcontractors.
- Ensure that relevant documents and budgets are submitted before a bid deadline.
- Regularly report to Management and keep clients updated on the project status.
- Formulate contingency plans and effectively manage risks that might impact cost and time estimates.
- Keep track of the latest estimating technology and industry-related techniques.
- Collaborate with other teams, conduct site visits, and provide other services, like bid deliveries, when required.
Qualifications
- Possess experience as an estimator in the mechanical construction industry.
- Provide references and contact information that can speak in detail on your capabilities and past projects.
- Exceptional time management, multitasking, and interpersonal skills.
- Brilliant management and negotiation skills.
- Ability to closely collaborate with other project teams, stakeholders, and possess the ability to work on your own for smaller projects.
- Excellent research, proposal writing, and oral presentation skills.
- Extensive knowledge of industry best practices and standards.
- Advanced computer skills and competency with software such as Accubid, Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, and Power Point.
- Ability to travel as needed and perform site visits.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and your own reliable transportation.
