Shop Associate

As a Shop Associate,  you will support IPS construction projects by maintaining tools, equipment and Shop facility while safely delivering equipment and materials to project sites. The ideal candidate demonstrates attention to detail and organizational skills while being able to work independently. The ability to adhere to Company policies and regulations, state and local traffic laws and safety procedures is a must. Previous experience in construction while operating basic construction equipment is preferred.

Compensation: Starting at $18.36/hour. Full time position.

Responsibilities

  • Fulfill tool and material orders to support jobsites
  • Assist in general maintenance and upkeep of shop warehouse
  • Assist in upkeep and maintenance of company tools and equipment where appropriate
  • Assist in the loading and unloading of trucks and utilizing a forklift where appropriate (forklift certification provided by IPS)
  • Deliver tools and materials to jobsites safely and efficiently while also obtaining signatures to confirm completed deliveries
  • Confirm the contents of each shipment load matches the manifest document
  • Fully understand how to operate and safely drive your assigned vehicle which includes performing inspections of your vehicle prior to and following each trip
  • Ensure all contents are properly secured in a truck/flatbed to prevent damage or injury
  • Assist in mapping driving routes to jobsites
  • Utilize predetermined route and ensure timely transport and delivery and check weather conditions and road reports before departure
  • Communicate with dispatch as needed
  • Maintain and service vehicle as needed (refuel, change oil, tire pressure, repairs, etc.) while always ensuring your vehicle is kept clean
  • Notify managers of any major maintenance or delivery issues encountered
  • Adhere to company rules and regulations while obeying all applicable traffic laws and drive in according to the weather/road conditions
  • Maintain a high focus on safety procedures at all times

Qualifications

  • 2+ years or proven experience in construction preferred
  • High school diploma, GED or suitable equivalent
  • Possess a valid driver license and clean driving record
  • Skilled at driving and parking large, heavy vehicles
  • Able to operate an electric lift, hand truck, pallet jack, etc.
  • Ability to twist, pull, turn, bend lift up to 50 lbs. at a time
  • Detail oriented with the ability to remain alert and focused
  • Proficient in using GPS or other routing system/map reading in locating project sites
  • Demonstrates composure in stressful environments remaining disciplined and resourceful
  • Demonstrates dependability and works well independently
